Picture this...
You walk into the nearest thrift shop. Start your routine by grabbing a cart and pushing it down your favorite clothing aisle. Feathering through brands as if they were a giant deck of cards, and you're looking for Ace's!
You come across a brand you're unsure of but feel it's the right quality to resell. What do you do?
- You get excited! Open the eBay app and search for the item.
- Then check how many active listings there are.
- After that, you click the "Filters" button. Scroll to the bottom and select "Sold Items."
- After gathering data by using various filters, you come up with a rough estimated sell-through rate, average sold, active, and shipping price. Right?
- After all that you finally notice the thrift store you're at thinks that their customers are from Beverly Hills, and these USED pair of Old Navy jeans are priced at $19.99.
- Annoyed, you reluctantly put it back and move on to ruffling through clothes again.
This was a common occurence for myself at all local thrift stores, and since I am a software engineer, I figured it was a perfect opportunity to increase my thrifting efficiency.
So, Thirsty Thrifter was born!
